Creative Birthday Gift Ideas For Your Boyfriend
What to get my 2 year anniversary?
Over the last two years we have done very extravagant gifts for birthdays, Christmas and anniversary. Cars, big Tv’s, computers, Ps3, Wii, After market car parts, jewelery literally everything that we could possibly need that’s expensive. Now with our anniversary coming up this weekend and his birthday coming up in only 4 weeks and Christmas only a short distance away I have no more ideas!!
I am not the most creative person and I personally don’t like gifts that are made, I just feel that they have no use and are just junk collectors.
But I just have nooo idea what to get. I want something thats useful and not too expensive.
What gifts have you given your boyfriend or husband in the past that they use all the time or that they really appreciated!?
1. Tickets to something.
2. Tools. Kitchen knives, for example. I was given a fabulous set of kitchen knives once that I STILL bless the giver for long after they left my life.
3. Things that work- bookshelves, tool benches, tool boxes, tthe thing for the person who has everything is a place to put it all!
4. Memberships to things.
You don’t like “made” things, but that’s probably because you haven’t seen things “made” that are high quality. Macaroni necklaces, country style things, those are stupid and silly. I agree.
On the other hand, there are things you can make that are far more exciting- Get an unfinished bookshelf and spend some time sanding and staining it TOGETHER. it’s great fun, not expensive, looks good, and is a wonderful thing to do together.
You’ve gotten computers- do you play them together?
Made things can be as simple as going online, and making a book of your wedding pictures. It will be bound and printed as a REAL book, and shipped to you. You’ll have something “made” that isn’t sewn with yarn or covered in ruffles, and it will be personal. It will also still be classy and not just something to throw in a corner.
Definitely start looking at more romantic, less “object” things, because it’s great for a relationship. If he drinks coffee, get a mug, a pound of rare coffee, and add a dvd of a fun movie. Tell him that it’s for sitting down with you and watching while he enjoys it.
But getting off the “expensive” track is a good idea. THe best gifts aren’t “made’, but they are thoughtful- showing that you put the time into understanding what someone actually likes. A box with a book, a tin of cocoa, a mug, and a blanket, for someone who likes snuggling up on the couch with a book. No ruffles or stupid shells glued on picture frames there! But still, a thoughtful gift that shows real care.
Once when I moved someone gave me a big box. It had a teapot, a teacup and saucer, one box of tea, and a blanket. It was for when I was homesick. I thought it was the sweetest thing ever, and I STILL have the blanket and teacup etc. (And still usethem.) It’s about getting the thought into the box that matters.
Good luck- please feel free to update, to let us all know what you picked!
