Can someone with OCD truly love another person?

My ex GF has OCD. She would do all these wonderful things that made me feel so loved, but at times I felt she lost sight of the actual meaning and cared only about the task. For example, on my birthday last year, she arrived 15 minutes before midnight because she HAD to make me homemade gifts and wrap them in fancy paper. Forget the gifts…I just wanted to be with her. I conveyed this to her many times to no avail, so after 1 year I ended it. Through out the entire relationship I never saw her cry except on this last day. However, her tears were few, for within minutes, she sucked it up, smiled and walked off. It has bothered me to this day because I’m not sure if I made the right decision.

Was I too critical or not patient enough?
Did she really love me, is that why she cried for the first time?
Why did she smile and never look back again if she truly loved me?
Can someone with OCD love truly or will the task always be #1?

you seem kinda ignorant for thinking ppl with ocd can never love another. i think she did love you. thats why she smiled and walked away. you wanted to end it, so you did. do you expect her to break out in a stream of tears in front of you?? i know if i really fell in love with someone i had, i would wait to cry til later. im in love with someone now, but i never let her know how sad i am i cant have her. i think you made a mistake. she only wanted to make you happy…and when you have ocd, that includes the whole package, wrapped with a bow. i know this, cuz im the same way. just because she wanted to make you your gifts on time has nothing to do with how little she loves you. from what you described, i think you broke her heart. i think she really did love you. but shell move on. maybe to chicks. lol but if i were you, id be callin her up tommorrow, and talking to her about it.
