Anyone have any good ideas for a parents 25th Anniversary besides a vacation or cruise?

My mom is coming off chemo so travelling is out and we (three older sibs) want to do something special for both mom and dad. We don’t want to do just an engraved gift, we want something unique. Again, travelling is out of the question.

First, I’m so sorry to hear of your mother’s health. I know what you’re going through because I just lost my mother to Stage 4 cancer last year and know how chemo can really take the energy out of someone.

I am an only child and what my we did was have a double-ring wedding ceremony where they renewed their 44-year vows and my husband and I were officially married in the eyes of the church (we were married 10 years before at the local city hall).

It was BEAUTIFUL! We had a great ceremony and followed was an awesome wedding reception with all the trimmings! We had a sit-down dinner, dj, cake, etc. It was a great way to celebrate with family & friends and created some great memories that day!

We felt it was the perfect affirmation of life and love and a great time was had by all!

When we lost my mom 4 months later, everyone that came to the vistitation and funeral that had been at the party said that they were so happy to be a part of such a special occasion that they would always remember!

It’s also the last time my father got to dance with my mother (that’s how they met – he asked her to dance at a wedding so it will live in our hearts forever as the best thing we ever did!
