60th Birthday Gifts Him
What is an appropriate gift for Professor’s 60th birthday?
My ex-PhD professor is turning 60 soon and I have been invited to his family celebration of the occasion, as well as a much larger 2 day symposium in honour of his contribution to his research field of mathematics.
I have always viewed him as a second father figure and respect him very much and am trying to think of good ideas for a suitable birthday gift.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what could be an appropriate gift?

Just wanted to say thanks! for all your suggestions so far … there are some really lovely ones – I was thinking of an engraved fob watch, or a nice watch, cuff links are lovely, or engraved glasses with a nice bottle … a leather journal (he would like that) … all wonderful! I’m not a level 2 so can’t rate the answers, but I love them all
