Gamestop Gift Receipt Policy

Can i return a “New” game from Gamestop?

When I went to buy the game it said it was “New”. At the register the clerk just popped open a drawer and pulled the disc out and put it in the case… so my game us “unwrapped”. So a week later, It was to be a a gift for a friend and when I went to put the receipt in the game case (in case they wanted to return it) I find the Manual is half bent…! The case had never been opened after i purchased it so now i have an open package with a pre-damaged booklet, will i still be able to get my return within the 30 day policy? (my friend does not want the game)

also I paid with my debit card, do I personally have to return it or may my friend recieve cash for returning it?

Your allowed to return the game within 7 days if you ‘don’t like it’. But I once grabbed a game and noticed the manual was missing and when I went to return it it was labeled ‘didn’t like’. The 30 days only applies if the game doesn’t work. I’d head back to gamestop and explain the problem, or take it straight to the manager. Gamestop is notorious for ‘gutting’ games and its a bit irriating. I learned long ago too, always check the manual, case, game etc before you leave. They tend to forget things sometimes…i.e. the game.

For refunds, they will probably just give you store credit back as opposed to cash.
