Couple’s shower invitation etiquette?

I’m throwing a couple’s shower for some friends. The bride has asked that I word the registry section of the invitations as such: “Guys, the groom is registered at Sears. Ladies, the bride is registered at Target.” I would prefer to say “The couple is registered at Sears and Target.” At the shower, I do not intend to differentiate between gifts for the bride and gifts for the groom. I think the gifts should be for the couple. They will open gifts together. What do you think?

You DON’T include registry information in the invitation, regardless of what the heck the bride wants. Tacky and greedy.
