itunes gift card does not have a code or scratch pad help!?

okay, so my mom got me an iTunes gift card (at least i think it is) for my bday yesterday only there doesnt seem to be any surface to scratch off and get a code. Theres just the terms and conditions on the back and a barcode. The card is lime green but doesnt even have a picture of a person in black like they usually do. Has the shop given my mom the wrong thing?

contact itunes with te serial number form the card you have, they can give you the code. http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/store/browser/
