Good 21st Birthday Gifts For Girls

First the most important thing to consider when planning a sleepover party is how many guests to invite. This will depend on the age and how much space you have. For the majority of children, having just 3-6 close friends over is the best option. Any more than that and you run the risk of having a rampage on your hands. The party does not have to take place in your child’s room; everyone can crash in the living room if there is more space there, for example.
For the invitation, make sure to specify that pajamas, a sleeping bag and a pillow are required, that way you won’t have to do any last minute searches or even purchases for extra bedding. You can provide air mattresses if you like, but most of them will sleep just fine on the carpet.
Also, you will want to start the sleepover party later than most birthday parties. Instead of beginning at noon or so, you will want the guests to arrive around 5 pm or so, ready for dinner. Supper and cake can be served around six and then on to the fun and games! Sleepover parties will not always require activities or games as other parties might, but you will still need some tricks up your sleeves in order to keep the kids from bouncing off the walls or even fighting.
Typical party games can be played, such as flashlight tag (tag each other with beams of light) or truth or dare. If you are providing favors for the guests glow in the dark bracelets and necklaces are great at sleepovers! Board games are a good way to keep them calm and having fun at the same time. You will want a few active games in before having everyone settle down for the evening, to wear them out a bit!
Throw in a good movie to calm the kids down, make sure it is age appropriate and one they will all enjoy. Ask your child what kind of movies they enjoy; this will most likely be the same for the friends too. Stay away from horror movies unless you have older children you are sure can handle it. Stick to comedies and silly flicks, or romantic for a girls’ sleepover party.
Kids love to snack. Provide plenty of munchies for them throughout the night. Try things like popcorn, chips, homemade cookies, trail mix and yogurt to keep them full. Drinks will include soda and juices. Snacks don’t have to be super unhealthy, but the kids won’t be too thrilled if you only produce only veggies and fruit, either!
The key to having a successful sleepover party is to keep them busy, fed, and let them have fun while keeping your distance but still aware of what’s going on. For example, make sure they keep the noise down after lights out, but don’t worry if they stay awake for an hour or two giggling and chatting.
A sleepover birthday party can be a wonderful experience for your kids. With plenty of fun, food and excitement, and simple planning your birthday child is going to have a great time.
